Basic information
Business Academy is a state school with economic specialization. After 4 years of studying students take graduation exams known as „maturita“. Economic education has existed in Opava since 1851. However, Business Acadamy itself was founded almost 70 years later – in 1920. It bore the name Czech Business School then but during the following 80 years it was renamed several times only to become Business Academy in 2000.

The school has it`s own gymnasium, modern fitness centre and a school canteen. The school building has a barrier-free acces and an inclined platform lift.

We keep in touch with a number of foreign schools with similar specialization – for instance in Germany, Denmark, Austria and Luxembourg. The school takes part in various international projects such as the Socrates-Comenius programme and the Leonardo da Vinci programme and has been succesful in obtaining grants on a number of occasions.
